Fill Supports

Brentwood AccuGrip™ Splash Fill Supports are a high-strength, non-corrosive, glass fiber reinforced polymer alternative to conventional wire splash fill support systems. The one-piece construction eliminates the costs and labor of the fill clips and hanger brackets needed in wire systems.

Standard 2’ x 3’ AccuGrip Supports are typically connected by AccuGrip Ties into 2’ x 6’ sections. Customizable (4” x 4” grid, notched panels, lock tab options, etc.) to meet most splash fill support configurations. The AccuGrip system has been extensively tested for load, tensile, creep, heat, and moisture effects and achieves a working safety factor of 15:1.

Testing
AccuGrip Integrated Splash Fill Supports are extensively tested for strength, durability, and suitability to harsh cooling tower environments:

Combined Panel Load Test
A 2’ x 6’ AccuGrip 2-panel assembly was fastened to a 2x4 support beam and loaded to failure at ambient temperature. Failure didn’t occur until 15x normal design load!

Single Strand Pull Test
The test fixture isolated and loaded the upper horizontal attachment points until failure (at the nail hole). The average maximum load was 295 lbs (or 1000 lbs/ft of horizontal grid)!

Creep Test
Loaded progressively from 75-200 lbs/ft over 170 days at 120°F, the response curve was essentially flat ... indicating that the material’s strain response to load is similar to steel!

Hot Water Soak Test
Published strength test data reflect the results of our long-term hot water submersion test at 140°F and indicate properties are stable over time.
